The Isle of Wight Deer farm is a 334-acre farm, home to 145 Red Deer and 61 Fallow Deer – a number which is continually growing.
Juan’s family has been running a profitable agricultural and farming business since the 1960s in Spain, and he is passionate about putting the knowledge accumulated to good use in the UK.
There is a range of wildlife that make up a diverse ecosystem around the farm: Marsh Marigolds flower in spring, mud wallows that the red deer have created, and many more. Plus, over the last 10 years they have planted over 300 hazel whips in order to increase hazel nut production for the red squirrels along with at least 100 Beech tree whips.
During this event you will get to tour the farm with Director, Juan Vicente and learn all about the deer and the natural farming techniques they use. Following the tour, you will get the chance to sample some home-cooked authentic Spanish cuisine, all set in the rolling hills of the Isle of Wight countryside.
